Tonoto, Ontario, August 8, 2016 - More than 1,700 participants from hundreds of municipalities and other organizations from across Ontario will participate in the Association of Municipalities of Ontario's 2016 AMO Conference, August 14 to 17 at Caesars Windsor, 377 Riverside Dr. E., Windsor.

AMO's annual conference is Ontario's top educational forum for municipal governments. This year, the program features more than 60 plenary sessions reflecting the broad scope of municipal responsibilities. Keynote presenters include:

The annual conference is a chance for municipal officials to work together to address shared challenges, to learn and to create new opportunities. In addition to the conference program, municipal staff and officials will take part in over 500 delegation meetings with provincial and federal ministries.

Key session topics include the fiscal future of Ontario's municipal governments, infrastructure funding and asset management, climate change, marijuana legalization, rural economic development, disaster preparedness, police modernization, pension sustainability, innovation and service sharing and the sharing economy.
