AMO COVID-19 Update
Province Allowing Certain Businesses to Reopen May 4, Including Municipal Construction Projects
May 1, 2020
The government announced that it will allow
certain businesses to reopen under strict health and safety guidelines. This includes a resumption for additional essential municipal construction projects as well as site preparation, excavation, and servicing for institutional, commercial, industrial and residential development. Marinas and golf courses are allowed to start to get ready for the coming season but are not allowed to open to the public. The effective date is Monday, May 4th at 12:01 a.m.
For more information and the full list of businesses allowed to resume business, see the
Ontario website. The government has said that the next stage of reopening will happen once a steady decrease in COVID-19 cases occurs. Businesses will need to comply with
strict new guidelines to ensure occupational health and safety.
