Bill 150, Green Energy and Green Economy Act, 2009 AMO Written Submission to the Standing Committee on General Government. April 16, 2009.
AMO well understands the needs of the municipal sector. As the second largest energy consuming sector in the province, with an annual spent of over $955 million, the municipal sector has a significant stake in planning for future energy generation, conservation, and related infrastructure.

The vision of this bill is clear – to make it easier to bring renewable energy projects to life and create a culture of conservation so that people can go about their daily lives using less energy. The Minister is looking to this hearing process to make improvements to the legislation and its related regulatory framework. This submission does that. We appreciate the hard work of this Committee along with the need to create jobs, fight climate change, and secure Ontario as a leader in the new green economy.
