The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), a non-profit organization representing Ontario’s municipal governments is seeking a Policy Intern. If you want to provide leadership influencing public policy to advance municipal goals and priorities, then this opportunity is for you.

The Role 

Assisting Senior Advisors, the Senior Manager and the Director of Policy and Government Relations, the successful candidate will support AMO’s policy development, advocacy and strategic initiatives activities. The job requires a highly motivated candidate with strong interpersonal skills and self-awareness to conduct research, analysis, report writing, project planning and coordination. The Policy Intern will:

• help identify issues of importance to municipal government and help demonstrate impacts of the issues and appropriate responses. 
• assist with the development and implementation of AMO’s annual summer conference in Ottawa
• participate in the implementation of the AMO-Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Ontario on consultation, including participation in meetings with provincial Cabinet Ministers.
