Ontario’s Financial Accountability Office Identifies Municipal Financial Impacts of COVID-19 for 2021
Toronto, Ontario, December 10, 2020 – The Association of Municipalities of Ontario appreciates a review by the Financial Accountability Office (FAO) confirming that COVID-19 is costing Ontario municipalities billions of dollars, requiring additional federal and provincial support into 2021.

2020 AMO Conference Ends with Economic Recovery Panel and Declaration to Better Serve Indigenous People.
Toronto, Ontario, August 19, 2020 – The third and final day of the 2020 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference wrapped up today. More than 1,500 municipal delegates took part, along with Ontario’s Premier, Cabinet, and all party leaders. Delivered entirely online, it was largest gathering of government leaders since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

York Region Receives Innovation Award for Online Development Approval System

Marshall Innovation Award Jury presented a Certificate of Merit to The Regional Municipality of York for its innovative online approach to reviewing and approving development applications, called YorkTrax. The certificate was presented at the 2020 AMO Conference, held online.

City of Markham Receives Innovation Award for Community Hub Partnerships
Toronto, Ontario, August 17, 2020 – The Peter J. Marshall Innovation Award Jury presented its highest award to the City of Markham for its Community Hub Partnership project. The Plaque Award was presented at the 2020 AMO Conference, which was held online this year

Township of South Frontenac Receives Innovation Award for Private Lane Upgrades

Premier, Provincial and Municipal Leaders Meet Online for 2020 AMO Conference - Largest Gathering of Government Leaders Since Pandemic Began
Toronto, Ontario, August 16, 2020 – Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Christine Elliott will be among key speakers featured on the first day of the 2020 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) annual conference. The AMO conference opens Monday August 17 and will run to August 19. It will be offered entirely online – a first in the more than 120-year history of the event.

AMO Hosting Canada’s Largest Conference for Government Leaders Since Pandemic Began.
Toronto, Ontario, July 28, 2020 – The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) will host its annual AMO Conference, August 17 to 19, offering its entire program online for the first time. Vaughan’s Civic Centre Resource Library receives AMO award
Ottawa, Ontario, August 20, 2019 – The City of Vaughan has been recognized by the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) for using the federal Gas Tax Fund to improve energy-efficiency at its Civic Centre Resource Library (CCRL). Marco Mendicino, Parliamentary Secretary to the federal Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, presented the award today to Tim Simmonds, Vaughan’s Interim City Manager at the annual AMO Conference in Ottawa.
