AMO offers for sale a number of products and services to assist municipal governments and other organizations to deliver information directly to municipalities. Our broadcast service via the AMO Watchfile and mail lists use up-to-date contact information for Ontario municipalities.

AMO Members and Supporters receive special pricing when purchasing our products and services, which include:

  • Career postings
  • Circulation of municipal resolutions
  • Mail lists

Career Postings: Our career/job ad posting service provides a cost effective and efficient method to advertise career opportunities. Your job ad can be listed in the Careers area of AMO's website. This site is accessed by Ontario municipal officials, as well as by colleagues across the country and interested members of the public. All listings are posted until the last date for applications, or for 30 days if there is no closing date. Included in the price of your job ad posting is a listing of the job ad in the AMO WatchFile. The WatchFile is broadcast once a week to approximately 7500 municipal elected officials and staff, as well as other individuals and organizations, including other levels of government.

Circulating Municipal Resolutions: There are two ways this can happen: a WatchFile listing or using a purchased mail list. The WatchFile has a broad distribution as explained above in the Job Ads information. To achieve direct distribution of a resolution to the appropriate municipal officials, a mail list can be purchased on a very limited basis (please see below).

Event or Other Broadcast Listed in AMO's newsletter, the WatchFile. AMO reserves the right to decline the broadcast of a document or information at our own discretion and without justification.

Mail Lists: Mail lists are sold in the form of Excel files, and include applicable municipal contact information. Mail lists are sold on a very limited basis and only if all uses of a purchased mail list fulfill all requirements of Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Canada's anti-spam law was passed in December 2010 and came into force on July 1, 2014. This federal law generally prohibits the sending of commercial electronic messages without the recipient's consent (permission), including messages to email addresses and social networking accounts, and text messages sent to a cell phone.

AMO will sell a mail list only if we are advised that its use is solely for non-commercial purposes. For example, our mail lists cannot be used for any electronic communications that provide information about a product, service or event for which a fee is charged, or, if there is any type of commercial intent within a communication or in any attachments.
